Our Commitment To Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. We’ve developed this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and/or store information received from you in connection with the FindACase site. Before disclosing your information to us, please familiarize yourself with our privacy practices so you can understand how your information may be used by FindACase.
The Information We Collect and How We Use It
The information we request includes demographic information but our site is not set up to automatically collect personally identifiable information from each visitor. However, our web server does recognize the home server of visitors, but not e-mail addresses. For example, we can tell which Internet Service Provider our visitors use, but not names, addresses or other information about our visitors that would allow us to identify a specific visitor.
FindACase may also collect personal and non-personal information in order for you to receive the services or any product or communication from us. For instance, we may request your information in order to be able complete a transaction (e.g. a subscription). Understand that all such disclosures are voluntary on your part, however, certain minimum disclosures are strictly required in order for you to receive the services you want or expect from FindACase. If you do not wish to disclose certain required information, FindACase may not be able to provide you with some or all of the services (including e.g., full access to case decisions) you want. If you provide the data to us, then you give us your consent to use it in accordance with this policy.
Personal information (or “Personally Identifiable Information” or “PII”) is information and data that can be used to specifically identify or contact a single person. What is deemed to be ‘personally identifiable’ may vary from region to region, country to country, or even state to state. FindACase encrypts PII as soon as commercially reasonable to protect you. We do not store or externally transmit any PII you may provide to us unless it is encrypted or put in a form that is secure and not readable by humans.
You may be asked to provide certain personal information when you contact FindACase for any reason. FindACase may share your personal information internally. If we do, we will use it in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We may also combine personal information with other information to help us to develop or improve the services or any of our products, content, communications, and/or advertising, or to provide improved user experiences for you.
Examples of some types of personal information FindACase may collect (always with your consent) and how we may use it are provided below:
FindACase uses commercially reasonable security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data. We restrict access of personal information to our employees, contractors, and/or agents who need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations. FindACase and its third-party providers use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on all web pages where personal information, including financial information is transmitted.
You are solely responsible for any personal information you choose to submit on non-secure sites including but not limited to discussion forums or public comment threads (if any) on the Sites, or any social media sites, groups, or threads related to the Sites or the related courses, products, or other services.
Information that does not permit direct identification of, or contact with, or is not association with, any specific individual is ‘non-personal information. Personal information, even if combined or aggregated with non-personal information is still considered to be personal information by FindACase IF the combined information can be used to identify or contact any specific individual(s). FindACase will treat all such information as PII. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, FindACase treats aggregated data as non-personal information as long as it cannot be used to identify or contact any specific individual. Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and certain other identifiers may be considered personal information under various local or regional privacy protection laws.
The following are some examples of non-personal information that we collect and how we may use it:
FindACase will always strive to be compliant with all privacy protective regulations at the state, national, and regional level. However, you nonetheless understand that in order to have registered accounts, receive updates, make purchases, or interact with us or other participants, you will have to provide your consent to FindACase for collecting and using certain private information.
To help FindACase serve you better, we use technological means to recognize you, provide the proper services to you (personalized as you may wish), and to better understand and adapt to user behavior. To accomplish this, the FindACase website, our email messages, and our online advertisements may use cookies or related technology such as pixel tags, clear gifs, and web beacons. These technologies help us to know which parts of the FindACase sites people visit most frequently and provide data to aid us in understanding use of the Services or to improve our Services, courses, products, and/or communications.

FindACase also may use specific technologies in connection with certain communications such as emails that may be used to track actions by recipients. For example, these communications may include one or more clickable text or graphics that include URLs that link to content on the Sites. However, these URLs may pass through a web server that tracks the click before arriving at the linked content on FindACase. The tracked data can help FindACase determine the effectiveness of our communications to users and customers, or to gauge interest in specific topics. If you prefer not to have your responses to such communications tracked in this manner, do not click links in the email messages. Such communications may also include pixel tags that can provide us with information such as whether an email has been opened. We may use this information to control the number of messages sent to users or customers, or to remove people who do not read or interact with our communications from one or more lists.
We also may use cookies to track certain behaviors of unknown visitors on the FindACase website - e.g. if you visit FindACase by following a link in an email from a third party or in an advertisement from such a party, we may track that behavior. In such cases, we may not have any personally identifying information about you at that time; however, if you later sign up for a product or service, or make a purchase, we may be able to associate your past behaviors on FindACase with you thereafter.
Protecting children’s privacy is important to FindACase. It is our policy to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and all other applicable privacy laws protecting children. Therefore, we restrict use of the Sites to persons eighteen (18) years or older. Additionally, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 (eighteen). You have the right to have your personal information that we have collected and hold from you deleted, subject to certain exceptions.

You have the right to non-discrimination if you exercise a privacy right under CCPA.
You have the right to correct inaccurate personal information that a business has about you.
You have the right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information collected about you.
This Privacy Policy document identifies the categories of personally identifiable information that our company collects through our website or online services about individual consumers who use or visit FindACase and the categories of third-party persons or entities with whom we may share that personally identifiable information.
FindACase does not presently maintain a ‘self-service’ online process for an individual consumer who uses or visits our commercial website or online service to review and request changes to any of his or her personally identifiable information that is collected through our website or online service, but will use commercially reasonable efforts to honor such requests submitted by email to Support@Findacase.com to the extent they are reasonable and within FindACases technological and practical ability.
See the section above titled “Changes To This Privacy Policy” for a description of the process by which our company notifies consumers who use or visit our commercial website or online service of material changes to our company’s privacy policy for this website or online service. You will be notified of changes so that you may accept them prior to continued use of the Sites.
The effective date of this Privacy Policy is listed at the end of this privacy policy under the heading, “Last Updated.”
For the purposes of this policy and California compliance the following definitions apply:
Depending on your activity on our website or online service, the following “personally identifiable information” may be collected, in addition to what is in prior sections of this document.
The term “personally identifiable information” means individually identifiable information about an individual consumer collected online via the FindACase from an individual and maintained by us in an accessible form and may include any of the following:
California residents have the right to receive information about third parties with whom we have shared information about you or your family for marketing purposes during the previous calendar year, and a description of the categories of personal information shared. To make such a request, please send an email to Support@Findacase.com and include the phrase “California Privacy Request” in the subject line, the domain name of the website you are inquiring about, along with your name, address and e-mail address. Use of Service Providers
To provide its various products or services, FindACase may work with certain third-party providers who are located wherever FindACase operates, or in any other location. Such companies provide services to FindACase. Examples may include information processing, server housing, providing internet connections, website hosting, financial transaction processing, payment gateways, clearinghouse services, merchant account services, or other banking, financial, or credit services, product/service delivery, communications, managing and enhancing customer data, providing technical support and/or customer service, and conducting customer research or satisfaction surveys. At any given time, FindACase may work with one or more such provider(s). We will only provide personal information to these companies where required for them to provide their services, or to improve our products or services for our customers. We will only provide PP or PIFI to these companies are after they are contractually obligated to protect your information, and only to the extent required for them to provide the services they have been engaged for.
Our Commitment To Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Removal Of Information or Documents
Content carried on this site is public information, and is acquired from courts in all states and federal jurisdictions. The entirety of this information constitutes a set of documents held in the public domain, which collectively form an appellate record. We maintain this set of documents to serve the public in matters of legal research. FindACase(tm) is one of many online and print sources for such cases.
To ensure the continued utility of this public domain resource, we will not remove a record from the public domain, nor will we redact any portion of it, without written request or a court order from an appropriate court of authority.
When a court "seals" a decision, it does not intend to remove it from the appellate record. It intends, rather, to direct its own personnel, typically the Clerk of the Court, to cease making that opinion available to the public through the court, i.e., it will no longer be available at the Court's counter and will no longer be available electronically on the Court's system. "Sealing" a document does not remove the opinion from the appellate record, especially in the instance of an opinion which has received a citation.
Upon receiving a written request, FindACase will prevent the identified opinion from appearing within both FindACase and public search engine results for FindACase using robots.txt protocol. This will eliminate the opinion from showing up in public search engine results for FindACase. Please note, we have no control over how long it will take for the link to be removed from search engines once the robots.txt protocol has been applied.
We are a private company carrying public domain documents released by government entities to the public; we carry nothing that is not in the public domain. Other private companies carry these same documents and we all do so under the protection of Cox Broad. Corp. v. Cohn, 420 U.S. 469 (1975), the case line of authority from Feist Publications, Inc., v. Rural Telephone Service Co., 499 U.S. 340 (1991), and Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
